Located at PIER 39 in San Francisco, we offer Bay Cruises, the Bay Area’s only white knuckle ride on RocketBoat, and scheduled ferry service to Sausalito, Tiburon, Angel Island, Vallejo, Alameda and Oakland. Additionally during baseball season we provide ferry service to and from AT&T Park. On land, our comfortable Motorcoach Sightseeing Tours take visitors from around the world to some of the most incredibly beautiful places in Northern California.

Blue & Gold Fleet offers Things to do in San Francisco, including Bay Cruises and Motorcoach Tours. We also offer regular ferry service to Sausalito, Tiburon, Angel Island, Vallejo, Alameda and Oakland, and seasonal, select service to AT&T Park. Click here to see map. We accept Discover Network, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and JCB. There is a per ticket service charge for telephone and web orders. You may also purchase tickets at Blue & Gold Fleet Ticket Box Office at PIER 39′s West Park. Some Blue & Gold Fleet cruises are seasonal and do not operate during inclement weather. Please check with the Box Office on day of sailing for possible schedule changes.
Blue & Gold Fleet ferry vessels are accessible to people with disabilities. The dock and gangway ramps used to embark and disembark from the vessels have reduced slopes and an accessible restroom is available. Passengers using wheelchairs have multiple seating options interspersed throughout the boats. Our friendly deckhands are happy to provide additional assistance requested by passengers with disabilities.
Motorcoach Tours include round-trip transportation and admission only where noted. Time is provided for lunch on the Yosemite, Wine Country and Monterey/Carmel Tours. Blue & Gold Fleet is an agent for booking seating space on Motorcoach Tours which has fully insured PUC/TCP licensed coaches. All Blue & Gold Fleet Motorcoach Tours depart from Pier 41 in Fisherman’s Wharf, except for the Motorized Cable Car Tour that departs from PIER 39. Meals are not included. Food is available for purchase at select destinations.

Blue & Gold Fleet is proud to be the Bay Area’s premier provider of sightseeing tours, including ferry and water excursion services. Our company is affiliated with PIER 39, a two-level, open-air festival marketplace, which hosts 110 specialty retail shops, 14 bay view restaurants, a 5-acre waterfront park, a 300 berth marina, the famous sea lions and numerous fun-filled attractions.
Conveniently located on San Francisco’s historic waterfront since 1979, Blue & Gold Fleet began serving the San Francisco Bay with only three passenger vessels providing pleasure cruises from PIER 39′s West Marina. Our excursion service expanded in 1991 to include the Alameda/Oakland commuter ferry service to San Francisco under contract with the City of Alameda and the Port of Oakland. In 1994 we acquired commuter ferry service between San Francisco and Vallejo under an exclusive contract with the City of Vallejo. In 1997, Blue & Gold Fleet acquired the majority of the assets of Crowley Maritime’s Red & White Fleet. In 2011 the company was selected to operate the San Francisco Bay Ferry System by the Water Emergency Transportation Authority. Blue & Gold Fleet is the largest ferry and land tour transportation provider serving San Francisco Bay’s commuters, residents and visitors.

Carolyn Horgan, President
Carolyn is the President of Blue & Gold Fleet, L.P. which operates a fleet of 17 vessels and provides daily commuter ferry service to the cities of Tiburon, Vallejo and Oakland/Alameda, as well as excursion tours, carrying more than 2 million passengers per year. The company’s service to Tiburon is the only unsubsidized commuter ferry service in the Bay Area. While extremely dedicated and successful in her field, a career in the maritime industry was not always her plan. She took a job answering phones with a local tour company for some extra money in 1973. Before she knew it, she had advanced to the position of the first female dispatcher in the Bay Area. It was at that time that she realized she had the skills for this business. Carolyn held the positions of marketing manager and manager of operations with our competitor, before finding her home with Blue & Gold Fleet in 1997 as the Vice President of Operations. On May 1, 2012 she was promoted to President of the company.
Patrick Murphy, Director of Operations
Patrick Murphy has been the Director of Operations since 2005, but his journey with Blue & Gold Fleet began long before that. Patrick began working with Blue & Gold Fleet 29 years ago. He moved up through the ranks. Before becoming Captain in 1993, he was a ticket seller, deckhand, maintenance worker, and food and beverage employee. The most memorable day Patrick has experienced on the job was when he was assisting passengers disembark on the Alameda/Oakland ferry, and caught the eye of a very attractive woman. He hasn’t taken his eyes off of her since. They married a couple of years later and now have two beautiful daughters. The Murphy’s now refer to the Alameda/Oakland service as the love ferry.
Director of Engineering
Kent has been a fantastic asset to Blue & Gold Fleet since his early college years when he began working as a deckhand. In 1989, his roommate’s father, Roger Murphy who ran the fleet during that time, asked his son and friends for some extra assistance. Kent volunteered and has been here ever since. He spent 3 years working weekends and summers until he graduated college and became more involved with the technical aspect of Blue & Gold Fleet. Kent had the experience of growing up with his co-workers and developing great friendships that have lasted throughout the years. As the company kept growing, so did his workload and there was never a reason to leave…and with views like this every day, how could you?
Meet Your Captains!
Captain Jackie has been a member of the Blue & Gold Fleet crew since 1997. She started out as a yellow jacket (crowd control), then moved her way through the ranks, becoming a bartender, photographer and deckhand. In 2001 she received her Captain’s license and since then has been driving everything from Bay Cruises to ferries to RocketBoat. When asked what she loves most about her job, Captain Jackie quickly replies, “I get to drive boats for a living, and that’s awesome!” Captain Jackie highly recommends everyone experience RocketBoat, the newest and fastest ride on San Francisco Bay. It’s her favorite part of the job. Just remember to be nice to her, or you may get wet!

ISO 9001 Certified: Quality Management System
Scope and Application:
Blue & Gold Fleet has adopted a risk-based Quality Management System to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, environmental protection, efficiency, accountability and provide a mechanism to prevent loss.
Our Quality Management System (QMS) includes processes for regulatory compliance, risk management and continual improvement. The QMS provides a consistent framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, measuring and reviewing our Mission Statement, Operational Improvement Policy & Core Objectives. This framework is based on the requirements and standards of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the International Organization for Standardization for Quality Management (ISO 9001:2008).
The following elements are integrated into our QMS:
The ISM Code is the international maritime Safety Management System whose purpose is to provide a standard for the safe management and operation of vessels and for pollution prevention.
ISO 9001 specifies requirements and a quality management system for any organization that wants to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide a product or service that meets customer quality requirements, which includes applicable regulatory requirements.
Blue & Gold Fleet reserves the right to, without prior notice, cancel voyages, change the time of departure, delay departures, and delay arrivals. This ticket is non-refundable, non-exchangeable, except that cancelled voyages are subject to refunds at the face value of the ticket. This ticket is a revocable license that is personal to the purchaser and may not be assigned, transferred or re-sold. Lost tickets will not be replaced. Presence on the voyage shall be consent to your image being recorded and used for commercial purposes without payment. All passengers and carry-on items are subject to search. No suit, action or proceeding against Blue & Gold Fleet or it’s owners, partners, parent, subsidiaries, affiliates or contractors, or against the vessels, agents, crew or employees of any of the foregoing entities (collectively the ”B&G Group‘), arising in connection with or incident to this ticket or the voyage covered by this ticket, whether based on contract or tort (”Claim‘) (including, but not limited to, Claims for personal injury, death or loss of property) shall be maintainable unless written notice of such Claim be delivered to Blue & Gold Fleet within six (6) months from the day when the incident giving rise to the Claim occurred (”Loss Date‘). All unresolved Claims shall be initially referred to mediation administered by the American Arbitration Association in San Francisco, California (”SFAAA‘) within sixty (60) days after the Loss Date. If such mediation does not resolve the Claim within one hundred twenty (120) days after the Loss Date, the Claim shall be referred to and resolved exclusively by binding arbitration before the SFAAA in accordance with it’s commercial arbitration rules, and judgment on the award rendered may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Commencement of arbitration must be filed, if at all, within one (1) year after the Loss Date. All Claims shall be governed by the federal maritime law. If any Claim is finally determined by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction to be not subject to arbitration, such Claim shall be litigated, if at all, in and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California located in San Francisco, California, to the exclusion of the courts of any other county, state or country and shall be based exclusively on the admiralty jurisdiction of such U.S. District Court. All defenses, immunities, exemptions and limitations of liability hereunder or at law are claimed and reserved by Blue & Gold Fleet for itself and shall also apply to the benefit of all persons, entities and vessels within the B&G Group.
