THE 2013 BART STRIKE

When Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) went on strike in 2013 the fallout was predictable and swift.  More than 400,000 commuters were stuck and the traffic nightmare that ensued proved both frustrating and all consuming.  Blue & Gold mobilized quickly, with Captains and crew working tirelessly around the clock in an incredible effort to bring everyone to work, school and home safely each day.  Blue & Gold trains regularly for emergencies such as this.  The ability to move this many people safely each day is what helped create the upsurge of transportation on the Bay.

Blue & Gold Fleet plays a vital role in the transportation choices of residents and tourists as they navigate the increasingly crowded Bay Area, carrying 4 million passengers annually, and is extremely proud of their safety record.

Bay Area traffic during the BART strike in 2013 was terrible
