Tamalpais.

It’s a California State Park. It’s a wildlife preserve. And it is one of the finest historical sites in the Bay Area that includes military garrisons and compounds from every major war dating back to the U.S. Civil War. Also known as the “Ellis Island of the West,” Angel Island’s Immigration Station was the first stop for millions of Pacific Basin, Asian and Russian immigrants entering the United States.

If you are looking to get off the beaten path, we encourage you to take a scenic ferry ride to the City of Vallejo, a friendly, active waterfront community located in the San Francisco Bay Area on the northern shore of San Pablo Bay.

Vallejo is named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo.

At the turn of the century, the Oakland waterfront was bustling with seafood and produce vendors, restaurants and saloons. Author Jack London, drew much of his material from his experiences here. Today, this waterfront area has retained much of its charm as a popular shopping, dining and theatre venue. Relive the turn of the century by visiting Jack London Museum, where you’ll find vintage photographs, newspapers and other period memorabilia.

Alameda is home to tree-lined streets, enchanting Victorian homes, parks and miles of bike trails.
