Monterey and Carmel/17 Mile Drive

South of San Francisco is the famed Monterey Peninsula, one of California's most scenic and historic destinations. Your morning departure from San Francisco begins a day-long adventure down the California Coast, first settled by early Spanish explorers and missionaries.

You will see many of the same sights as those who marched north from Mexico to bring civilization to this untamed land in the new world. You'll travel by luxury coach through the towns of Santa Cruz and Capitola en route to Monterey. Stops along the way provide an opportunity to view Monterey Bay and its rugged coastline, with plenty of time for shopping and picture taking. While in Monterey, you'll have time to visit Cannery Row or Fisherman's Wharf to sample some of Monterey's cuisine or, if you prefer, visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium (admission not included).

After the lunchtime break, you'll board your coach for the breathtaking ride along the 17 MILE DRIVE™ as you wind your way to the seaside town of Carmel. Known the world over, the 17 MILE DRIVE™ features spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the LONE CYPRESS™, THE LODGE AT PEBBLE BEACH™, Seal Rock and Pacific Grove. Ample time will be provided to visit the Carmel Mission and many of the local art galleries and shops for which Carmel is famous.
