Sausalito Ferry

In February 2009 the Society of American Travel Writers ranked Blue & Gold’s Sausalito Ferry ride the #2 most exciting ferry ride in the world!  "Crossing San Francisco Bay on a sunny afternoon, with Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge to the right, the Berkeley Hills to the left, and that glorious San Francisco skyline looming ahead; all that's missing is a bar of Ghirardelli chocolate and a warm loaf of sourdough bread," wrote Eric Lindberg, a freelance travel writer and photographer with the organization. "Public and private ferry boats provide an inexpensive alternative to cruises, often traversing some of the world's most beautiful harbors, fjords, rivers and waterways at bargain prices," said Bea Broda, the Travel Writers' president.

“What could be better than that?” asks Mark Prado of our local Marin Independent Journal newspaper. We agree with you 100%, Mark.  Let’s all go to Sausalito!

Sausalito offers the charm of a quaint seaside village tucked amongst the hills on the Bay. Step aboard a Blue & Gold Ferry for a smooth, quick ride to this delightful community. Art galleries, shops and gourmet restaurants provide hours of browsing, shopping and dining. Come see how charming Sausalito is for yourself.

Sausalito Art Festival - Add some color to your Labor Day Weekend...

The annual Sausalito Art Festival is America's #1 outdoor art festival, bringing over 50,000 fans, 20,000 works of art, 260 artists, 25 live performers, a weekend full of gourmet foods and wines. Internationally known as "The Granddaddy" of outdoor festivals, Sausalito Art Festival takes place annually at the Marinship Park, next to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito, California. Blue & Gold Fleet provides, in addition to the regular Sausalito ferry service, direct service to the Sausalito Art Festival site every year.

Note: For round-trip Sausalito excursions, please purchase two (2) one-way tickets. If single ticket were purchased, return tickets are available onboard or at the PIER 39 Ticket Booth. Tickets are valid for any departure time for up to six (6) months from date of purchase and are non-refundable. Blue & Gold Fleet accepts Commuter Checks for the Sausalito Ferry Service. For more information on Commuter Checks, please visit www.commutercheck.com.

Tickets can be purchased online (service charges apply), at our Box Office at PIER 39, or on board the ferry.  You can avoid the long summer and weekend ticket lines at PIER 39 by purchasing online and picking up your tickets at our self-service kiosk located at our PIER 39 box office.

NOTE: you will need to have a print-out of your confirmation page in order to pick-up prepaid tickets at the kiosk, box office or on board the ferry. If you are boarding at the Ferry Building you should purchase tickets at the Bay Crossings store or on board the ferry.
